Features To Look For In The Best Commercial Pool Pump For Your Hotel

The pool at your hotel is a major amenity, so taking proper care of that amenity is important. Investing in the proper pool pump makes a drastic difference. Here are a few features to look for.

1. Look for a pump that is easily serviceable.

Some larger commercial pool pumps have complex designs that are harder to service. At a hotel with a large pool, servicing the pump regularly is just going to be a common task, so the pool pump should be easy to open up, easy to clean, and otherwise easy to service.

2. Make sure the pump has a large inflow and discharge circumference.

Larger inflow and outflow pipes are necessary for larger volumes of water that are common with a commercial pool. If you have a large pump that has only a small inflow and discharge pipe, you really won't see the water move fast enough to properly pump the water. While some commercial pumps do not have the larger openings, most of those that are well-equipped for the purpose will be appropriately outfitted with larger inflow and discharge lines.

3. Find a pump that has good heat resistance.

When you have a large pool, the pump is going to run a lot more often than not, which means it has a greater potential of overheating than a typical pump on a standard residential pool. Because of this, any pool pump that is designed for larger-scale commercial use should be built to withstand heavy heat. Some pumps have their own internal cooling systems to help keep the functional components cool during movement as well.

4. Make sure the pump has a quiet operation.

When people stop in at your hotel and decide to take a swim in the pool, they are looking for a serene experience. If you have a noisy pool pump that is making a lot of racket every time you turn on the pump, it can be anything but serene. The best-built pumps for commercial use are going to offer a quiet operation in spite of their large size.

5. Find a pump with an enclosed impeller.

Having an enclosed impeller on your commercial pool pump serves a few advantages. For one, the impeller is protected from impact from anything that is caught in the water, which means it is less likely to get damaged and require maintenance. An enclosed impeller is also good because it prevents the risk of injury during cleaning and maintenance.
